More Information on Australia's Health department warning Scientology on their DANGEROUS 'therapy'

In another article, more details came out involving what was in the Propaganda that Volunteer Ministers from the Church of Scientology were handing out to people in Tennant Creek.

It turns out that it was NOT ONE VOLUNTEER that was handing out literature... but SEVERAL Operating from a tent in the middle of a park in Tennant Creek.

Here are excerpts from the article:

"THE Church of Scientology is targeting alcohol-dependent Aborigines with a "drug bomb" therapy which the church has been warned could kill people with kidney problems"

"The pamphlet gives a formula for a high dose "drug bomb" vitamin supplement to supposedly break drug dependency, which it warns can corrode the stomach and cause ulcers. It advises to take aluminium hydroxide tablets which gives adverse nervous system side-effects - to ease any upset."

"The pamphlet also gives a recipe for a calcium-magnesium drink to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. The Health Department believes the whole regimen could be deadly to dialysis patients by causing hypophosphataemia - low phosphate levels in already weakened people."

You should not take my word for it. Read the article yourself and Discuss it on the forums if you like.

Scientology's Advice on Detox: 'Could Kill Patients'

Earlier today an article was posted on ABC News stating that the Northern Territory Department of Health has warned the 'Church of Scientology' not to give people medical advice on how to detox from drugs and alcohol.

And for those of you who don't know... they do that alot. In fact, they brag about it. Narconon, a Scientology Front Group that claims to successfully get people off drugs has been shown in the news many times for it's controversial and possibly harmful 'treatments'.

The article says that a Volunteer Scientology Minister in Tennant Creek was handing out pamphlets that say that their vitamin supplements can treat drug addiction and the withdrawal symptoms.

Apparantly doing this could be FATAL to those who are on dialysis and suffer from numerous other health problems.

As someone who knows what withdrawals are like (Calm Down OSA.... I experienced Withdrawals from Prescription Medication that I stopped cold turkey... WHICH NOBODY SHOULD EVER DO)... I know that the HELL that people endure during this time CAN NOT be cured with vitamins.

Several Healthcare Professionals and Institutions have backed up and supported this action. The Health Department issued a warning to the church saying it SHOULD NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE.

The Church of Scientology spokeswoman, Virginia Stewart, claims that the volunteer who was handing out the propaganda had made a mistake. She says that the pamphlet should never have been distributed in Tennant Creek.
"That was an error and it should never have happened, and that person got corrected and is collecting everything back."

...... I'm sure we all know what that means.

Dentist Office Rips Off Teacher for Scientology

Today an article appeared in the St. Petersburg Times detailing an account of a Dentist allegedly running up patient's bills in order to pay money to the Church of Scientology. You should read the article here: 'Scientology benefits when Miami dentist runs up patient bills'

I'm not one of those who automatically assume that if a member of the Church of Scientology owns a business, they automatically give it all to the 'Church'. I also do not assume that Scientology is running and managing the business. This seems to be the result of the high costs of a 'Church' who overcharges its parishioners for a service they should be giving for free. Scientologists most often end up in debt because of the 'Church', which cause them to either end up working for the CoS, Borrowing money from everyone they can, Scamming/Ripping off to get more money, or just plain leaving the organization.

I am NOT justifying Dr. Rene Piedra at all. I was merely offering my 2 cents on WHY he was motivated to abuse the trust of his patients and drive them into unrecoverable debt.
-Dr. Rene Piedra

Here are some 'stats' that can be found from the article.

"From 2005 to 2008, court records show, Piedra's practice transferred $715,364 to several Scientology entities, including the church's spiritual headquarters in Clearwater."
• Nearly $150,000 to the Scientology church in Kansas City.
• $121,500 to the International Association of Scientologists, which funds the church's social campaigns and legal actions.

• $55,000 to the Scientology entity raising money to complete the mammoth "Super Power" building in downtown Clearwater.

• $83,000 to the World Institute of Scientology Enterprises, a nonprofit corporation that helps businesses put Scientology principles to work.

Piedra's contributions helped land him in bankruptcy, owing $3.9 million to a long list of creditors. A lawsuit in Miami alleges that Scientology groups played a key role in his downfall.
Barry Mukamal, a Bankruptcy Trustee states that Dr. Rene Piedra was attempting:
"to defraud patients in order to transfer large sums of money" to the Church of Scientology and related groups."

Active Once Again: New Updates

It's been a while since I've posted on here... I moved it to another site, but recently decided to just come back to this one.

I have returned to Washington, DC for a few months and look forward to enturbulating the DC Orgs again.

I am also moving the focus from Scientology to CULTS in general, although most of the posts and articles will probably be Scientology related.
